Why Choose Sound Advice?
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you come to Sound Advice for your hearing health, you will receive the best care possible. Prior to your appointment, we will send you some paperwork to fill out. Please bring your completed paperwork with you to save time. When you arrive, you will always be greeted by our Front Office Coordinator, Nicole, who will take your insurance information and answer any of your questions.
- Our audiologist, Karen Bauman, will bring you back for your appointment. First, she will have a conversation with you to get to know you and to better understand your health history and hearing.
- Then she will perform an ear exam by looking inside your ears to ensure they are clear of any excessive earwax or ear infections. If your ear canal looks clear then it’s time for the hearing test.
- The hearing test is quick and painless. Your ability to hear different words and tones will be tested at various frequencies. If you struggle with tinnitus, we will also perform a tinnitus test while you are here.
- After the hearing test our audiologist will discuss your results, answer any of your questions, and go over some solutions. We carry demo hearing aids in our office so you can see how small they are and how they would feel in your ears.
